Spotlight on LED Bank of Canada Governor’s Challenge Team
We’re so proud to recognize our 2025-2026 Bank of Canada Governor’s Challenge team and everything they accomplished this year. While we did not advance to the final round, our students were recognized as a runner-up team in a highly competitive national competition with over 100 students from 27 universities participating in the first round.

What this team accomplished is genuinely impressive. The judges praised the team’s well-structured and well-rehearsed presentation, their rigorous models and deep understanding of monetary policy, and their strong and organized question and answer period. The judges’ feedback is a meaningful reflection of the team’s dedication, sustained effort, and analytical depth throughout the process. “I just wanted to share how proud I am of this group”, said Associate Professor Ke Pang, faculty coach to Laurier’s Governor’s Challenge team. “This year’s team stands out as especially strong, hard-working and they really embraced the whole experience.”

Congratulations to this year’s Challenge team - Oscar Brown, Tighe Chivers, Aaliyah Karimi, Tim Lusignan, Christopher McGee, Mya Muschette, Emily Myatt, and Fraser Small – for representing Wilfrid Laurier University and the Economics department. Your work is something to be proud of and a strong foundation for whatever you take on next.
